American Gothic

Where Heaven and Hell Finally Meet

American Gothic: Good vs Evil

The rural community of Trinity, South Carolina, a postcard-pretty enclave of antebellum houses and manicured lawns, is a town tormented and seduced by the ominous presence of one man, Sheriff Lucas Buck ...

American Gothic is a gripping American cult-horror series, staring Gary Cole, Lucas Black, Sarah Paulson, Nick Searcy, Paige Turco, Brenda Bakke, and Jake Weber.

A malevolent force with an inexhaustible hunger for control, Sheriff Lucas Buck (Gary Cole) masquerades as a benevolent lawman while he rules without law or conscience. His Deputy, Ben Healy (Nick Searcy), although concerned about Lucas' lethal amorality, is helpless (and afraid) to stop him. Trinity's sweet school teacher by day, Selena Coombs (Brenda Bakke), is Lucas' loyal partner, friend, and lover by night.

Caleb Temple (Lucas Black) is a 10 year old boy who is determined to come to terms with the loss of his murdered sister. Initially, he finds himself running away from Lucas Buck, but in Trinity, no-one is immune to the Sheriff's powerful and charismatic charm, and everyone falls to his influence sooner or later ...

American Gothic: Paige Turco

A newcomer to Trinity, Dr. Matt Crower (Jake Weber), takes Caleb under his wing when he realizes that the Sheriff has taken an intense interest in the young boy. Dr Crower tries to protect Caleb from Lucas, but he does not realise the true power of his adversary.

Caleb's sister, Merlyn Temple (Sarah Paulson), returns as a ghost/angel to watch over her brother, and tries to guide him away from the Sheriff's manipulations. She wants Lucas Buck to pay for all his crimes and won't rest until she succeeds.

A former Trinity resident who now works as a newspaper reporter, Gail Emory (Paige Turco), returns to the scene of her haunted past where she learns that Lucas Buck is a threat to her young cousin Caleb. Gail's return to the town sets in motion a series of confrontations that will have terrible and long lasting consequences ...

American Gothic was created by Shaun Cassidy, and produced by Shaun Cassidy, David Eick, Edward Ledding, and Sam Raimi (Executive Producer). I have not seen another series to date that can even remotely rival this one. If you have not been fortunate enough to watch American Gothic, I strongly recommend it as must-see viewing.
